Shibori Workshop with Amanda
Shibori Dyeing with Amanda
Saturday, June 17 - 12-3pm
Class Fee: $75 - materials provided (see description below)
Max enrollment 10, minimum of 6
Class Description: Shibori is an ancient dyeing technique that involves twisting, tying, stitching and using resist techniques to create patterns in fabric. Also known as Indigo Dyeing, the end result is a lovely dark blue. Join Amanda Smith in our side garden at our Crozet shop and see what kinds of surprises await you in the Indigo color vat!
All dye and basic tying and resist materials will be provided, as well as gloves for your hands. This can be a messy process, so plan to wear your ‘painting clothes’.
We’ll provide some dish towels for dyeing and practice, but please plan to bring up to 5 small to medium sized pieces of your own - think: button-down shirts, t-shirts, tanks, leggings, white jeans, dish towels, pillow cases, etc. *White and light-colored natural fibers work best.
Cancellation refunds are honored up to 3 days prior to the event. We need time to allow for another participant to sign up. If you find that you are unable to attend after signing up, please contact [email protected] to make arrangements.
