Our Charlottesville Location
Amanda Johnson
Amanda
Johnson is running the show! For several years, Amanda has been the glue
and the glory behind the success of the The
Art Box in Charlottesville, and now manages the entire operation of the Charlottesville store. Amanda’s customers love her
smiling face, and warm heart. She is always willing to place special orders for
you, and her ability to help guide you with your special project is
unparalleled. She has put her heart and soul into our new “digs,” and it has
really paid off! We love the expanded space and new possibilities. Before long,
you will be hearing from her about gallery openings and class offerings.
Brian Goff
Many of you will remember
Brian. He worked for us from 1998 - 2004, and still has many fans and friends
among our clientele. Wooed away by the world of wine, we lost him for 8
years. We’ve managed to coerce him back to be the assistant manager and handle our day to day work flow. If his elegant, contemporary framing designs
were your all time favorites, drop in to see Brian! Don’t forget, he’s also one of our quick-draw
paper masters, able to identify sheets at twenty paces!
Our Lynchburg Location
David Eakin
David Eakin is fabulous. That’s all. What? You want to know more? Don’t you know
him? If you don’t know his art, his fabulous personality, his patience, his
friendship, his camaraderie and his compassion, you must come meet him.
The world spins around David. Of course, he would never admit it... (He's also the acting manager in the Lynchburg store.)
Emily Smith
Emily Smith is still with us! Emily used to help us several days a week, but now
she is nose to the grindstone at Randolph College, finishing her degree
requirements. And, of course, taking care of Scott and Carter during most of
the rest of her days. But we often still claim her on Saturdays, so if you love
her knowledge of all things pigmented,
drop by and ask her questions that only she can answer.
Jill Jensen
Jill Jensen has joined the team! And with her, we suddenly speak the language of
fabrics, dyes, and printing on cloth...Jill is a fiber artist, a printmaker,
and brings us knowledge of a whole new melange. Jill is organized, efficient,
and has extensive art supply knowledge to answer your weirdest questions. She
is also an artist in residence at many public school programs throughout the
Old Dominion, teaching young people the joys and trials of art. Bring on the next generation!
Raleigh and Anne Novak
After getting married on May 15th of 2010, Anne and
Raleigh Novak have been dividing their time between building projects on their Amherst Farm, and both stores as necessary. You may happen to see Anne in either store as she dashes back and forth. Raleigh has been working on the Lynchburg classroom space and we expect it to open soon.
