Creative Framing is a custom frame shop located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

We offer conservation framing using top quality archival products and techniques that will stand the test of time. Our specialty framing skills include stretching needlework, making french and fabric mats, shadow box construction, and oversize framing up to 4' x 8'.

Of course we also provide the basics like diploma framing, plain and beveled mirrors, and poster mounting on foam board.

MISSION

Our aim is to provide the best possible framing job to each client that walks in our door. Depending on the artwork, appropriate framing choices may range from a sleek contemporary treatment to an elaborate, ornate frame. Working within your budget, we help you decide on the proper treatment for your artwork, and then work to make that vision a reality.

HISTORY

Since 1968, Creative Framing has been providing high quality framing to Charlottesville and central Virginia. Opened originally as Shuford Gallery, the shop changed its name to Creative Framing in the 70's. We have been under the same management since 1980, and have been in Ivy Square Shopping Center for over 20 years.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful clientele of faithful customers who keep us on our toes with the many unusual and interesting projects they bring us. We have framed a rifle carried by John Wayne, shadow boxed hundreds of horse ribbons and trophies, framed delicate antique French textiles dating back to the heyday of Versailles, and mounted a gold leaf frame on a fish tank. (What happy fish they were!)

In 1997, we began carrying art supplies under the name The Art Box.

Our business grows every year and to do all that beautiful framing, we are lucky to have talented and cheerful employees whose average experience in picture framing is over 10 years. We bring all of our years of experience to bear as we work with your artwork, and are proud to say that our customers are overwhelmingly happy with the results. We are flattered by the number of times that our customers recommend us to others.
