Celluclay: Instant
Papier Mache. Simply add water for a great sculpting medium
that is completely non-toxic and safe. Celluclay air
dries, adheres to almost any surface and can be sawed, sanded
or nailed when dry. Made in USA. The Art Box carries
white and grey in 1 lb. and 5 lb. packages.
Das Air Hardening
Clay: Das is a perfect introduction to natural
earth clays. This very smooth and refined clay is packaged
in a special container brick that keeps the clay perfectly
moist until opened. "Pronto" is pure white, and "Terra-cotta"
is an earth red. Made in Italy. The Art Box carries
Pronto and Terra-cotta in the 1.1 lb. size.
Makin's Clay:
It's a new type of
AIR-DRY modeling clay that requires no baking. The
No Bake Clay® that dries with normal exposure to air
after approximately 24 hours. It is water based and comes in
9 basic colors (Natural, White,
Yellow, Red, Blue, Green, Brown, Black, Terra Cotta),
4 neon colors (Yellow, Orange,
Pink, Green), and 1 glow in the dark.
For additional colors you can mix the clay colors together or
mix the clay with acrylic paints.Makin's Clay® is slightly
acid when wet, it is acid free in dry stage. Makin's
Clay® contains no PVC. It is certified non-toxic, and
conforms to ACMI-AP safety and quality standards. It is safe
to use for both adults and children above the age of 3.
Marblex: This
self hardening clay makes objects that are permanent without
firing. A grey clay, it comes prepared and ready to use. Air
dried pieces are hard and durable, but not waterproof. Can
be finished with Rub and Buff or other finishes. Made in USA. The Art Box carries 5 lb. boxes.
Permastone Casting Material:
This
plaster-like casting compound dries to be super-hard. Ideal
for projects that require break-resistant casting. Sets up in
20-30 minutes, is microwaveable or will air dry. It can be
finished with oils, acrylics, watercolors, poster colors, etc.
Roma
Plastilina: is an oil-based sculptor's clay that does
not harden or deteriorate, and its plasticity improves with
time. It is designed to respond perfectly to the sculptor's
tools each time it is worked. Made in USA. The Art Box
carries 2lb. blocks.
Sculpey
Polymer Clay: This modeling compound bakes, in about
20 minutes, at 300 degrees in your home oven. 40 colors are
available that can be mixed to an infinite color palette.
Great for children or adults. This is a wonderful product
for creating your own millefiori beads and patterns. Sculpey
requires no painting, but a glossy finish can be achieved
by applying liquid acrylic glaze. Sculpey also comes
in sets of 10 and 30 colors, and Creative Clay Sets that contain
6 colors and instructions for making a given project such
as "Desert Dwellin' Reptiles", "Rain Forest Frogs", or "Alien
Dudes". Made in USA. The Art Box carries sets and open
stock.
Vatican Art Casting Stone:
This casting material produces
stone-hard casts with sparkling stone-like texture. Easy to
use, just add the powder to water in accordance with
instructions on the label.

Sculpting
Tools: The Art Box carries
a variety of tools for sculpting. The handy "Pottery Tool
Kit" contains all the basic pottery tools required by the
professional as well as the beginner, including loop tool,
ribbon tool, potter's rib, needle tool, scraper, and wire
clay cutter. Smaller sets are also available. We also carry
a small "Clay Gun" that can be used to extrude clay in a variety
of shapes. We stock calipers in two sizes which are used to
transfer accurate measurements to your work. The Art Box
also carries books about sculpting and we can recommend some
good magazines.
Sculptor's
Wheel: In addition to Sculpture Stands described in
our Easels and Tools section, The Art Box also special
orders potters' wheels and kilns for our clients. Many sizes
and models are available.
